Aquaflex Cones are a clinically proven* pelvic floor exercise system consisting of two empty vaginal cones with a set of vaginal weights that can be added to the cones.
This incontinence cones system has been specially designed to help women who accidentally leak urine when laughing, coughing, sneezing or exercising. This condition is medically known as stress incontinence, but can also be known as a ‘weak bladder’.
70% of cases of stress incontinence can be improved or cured using weighted vaginal cones, such as Aquaflex Cones, for just 20 minutes a day for 12 weeks.
Aquaflex Cones are discreet, with the largest similar in size to a super tampon. The incontinence cones can be taken apart to allow vaginal weights to be inserted. As your pelvic floor muscles become stronger you will progress from using the larger Aquaflex Cone without vaginal weights to the smaller Aquaflex Cone with the maximum vaginal weights.
When an Aquaflex Cone is inserted into the vagina, the pelvic floor muscles automatically contract around the vaginal cone giving immediate identification of the correct muscles. It is this reflex action that exercises and strengthens pelvic floor muscles.
Aquaflex Cones are easy to use and only needs to be used for up to 20 minutes a day or until the muscles are tired. A pelvic floor exercise routine using Aquaflex Cones can be easily established. While using Aquaflex Cones, you can continue with your everyday activities as you build your pelvic floor muscle strength.
Aquaflex Cones can be used at any time during the day to fit in with your schedule. It’s worth bearing in mind thought that as the days wears on, your pelvic floor muscles will become tired. So, if you do pelvic floor exercises in the evening, you may not be able to hold as many vaginal weights or to exercise for as long as usual.
* of 30 women who completed one month of the pelvic floor exercises, 70% found that they were improved or cured and 90% found it an acceptable method of treatment for incontinence. Study entitled ‘Vaginal cones:, a conservative method of treating genuine stress incontinence’, A. B. Peattie, S. Plevnic, Sl.L Stanton, British Jounral of Obsterics and Gynaecology, October 1998.
